My 101 Favourite Movies – Part 1

One of the items on my 101 Things in 1001 Days is to create a list of My 101 Favourite Movies. I have actually done it… I am almost 100% positive that I have missed out a number of movies that I really, really like but this is as good as it is going to get for now. Also if I listed all of my favourite movies I might have to make a 1001 Movies.

There are a number of reasons why I consider these my favourite movies, story line, special effects, performances etc… sometimes though it is because of the feeling I got when I watched them. They may have sparked my imagination, made me feel good or maybe sad. I suppose what I trying to say is that I cannot justify my choices, I just like them.

Where there is a series of movies that I enjoy I have just included the movie I have watched the most from that series.

As it is such a long list I thought I would split it into five different parts, four of 20 and one of 21 to make it easier to read.  I have not categorised the movies or put them in order of preference.

Part 1

Ever After (1998)I love this movie so much.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989) – I love Sean Connery

The Matrix (1999)to be honest this is the only movie I actually like in the trilogy.

Casablanca (1942) – Here’s looking at you, kid!

The Dark Knight (2008)

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)This is a movie I put off watching for ages but it really is an interesting story with great performances. Out of all the movies on this list this is the only one I have only ever watched once, but I would watch it again.

Lord of the Rings – Return of the King (2003)

Jurassic Park (1993) – The original and the best.

It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) – How can anyone not enjoy this movie.

Toy Story 3 (2010) – It broke me……

Beauty and the Beast (1991) – My favourite Disney Animation.

Back to the Future (1985)

The Prestige (2006)

Singing in the Rain (1952)

Some Like it Hot (1959)

The Green Mile (1999) – This is a bit of a strange one because I really enjoy the concept.

Stand By Me (1986)

Hairspray (2007)I love John Travolta’s performance in this.

Grease (1978)and in this… nearly 30 years earlier… lol!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) This was one of the first DVD’s I owned so I watched it over and over again, also with directors commentary, at a time when it was all new.

So this is the end of Part 1… what do you think?
